Buyer / Merchandiser

We are looking for someone with extensive experience in backcountry skiing and

mountain running to procure and merchandise related gear in our multichannel

retail operation. In this role you will be expected to provide sales guidance for

floor staff and backfill sales roles as needed. Supplementary team leadership is

required.

This is a full-time, year-round position.

Duties:

• Collaboratively determine product selection with staff input.
• Place vendor orders and maintain related electronic records.
• Monitor vendor shipments for timeliness and accuracy.
• Work with vendors and staff to correct delivery problems.
• Effectively communicate availability to staff and customers.
• Observe product sales and adjust purchases accordingly.
• Develop online product listings in a timely manner.
• Ensure products are accurately depicted online.
• Ensure products are sufficiently displayed in store.
• Work with vendors and staff to promote key product lines.
• Proactively manage overstock with creative sales tactics.
• Use social media to announce product availability.
• Coordinate with vendors on special events.
• Attend sales meetings with vendors.
