Transport Captain
We are seeking a passionate and resourceful Transport Captain to join our Transport Office team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safe, punctual, and comfortable transportation of our clients while supporting their daily care needs. You will take ownership of maintaining vehicle readiness, coordinating transport schedules, and ensuring client well-being during journeys.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive clients to and from the centre, ensuring punctual and comfortable transport.
- Assist clients in boarding, alighting, and settling safely, while monitoring their well-being.
- Conduct daily visual checks on clients health conditions and contact family members if required.
- Maintain accurate client transport schedules, name lists, and vehicle logbooks.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks, and coordinate timely maintenance and repair schedules.
- Support centre operations by assisting care staff and therapy aides in routine duties and basic ADLs.
- Help with centre upkeep, ensuring a clean and safe environment for clients.
- Undertake multi-skilled tasks or other duties as assigned by the Centre Manager.
Requirements
- Possess valid Class 3 and Class 4 driving licenses.
- Prior driving or caregiving experience in hospitals, nursing homes, or community care is advantageous.
- Experience in basic electrical or mechanical repair is a plus.
- Patient, caring, and committed to serving elderly clients.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Capable of working independently, under time constraints, and proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
