About the job CommCare Academy - Assistant Manager/ Manager
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile learning & development professional to join the CommCare Academy as an Assistant Manager/Manager. This role is pivotal in curating, designing and implementing professional development programmes through strong partnerships with Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will drive training needs analysis, curriculum design and programme facilitation, while identifying emerging capability gaps and opportunities to enhance overall learning impact and workforce development in SLEC and the community care sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- External Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary liaison with IHLs, professional bodies and external partners to assess and coordinate collaboration opportunities to create impactful student and institutional learning experiences.
- Engage external partners to co-curate professional development programmes aligned with organisational priorities and sector needs.
- Represent SLEC in discussions with IHLs/partners to design, plan and implement educational initiatives that promote understanding of community care and our service philosophy.
- Translate potential IHL learning collaborations into actionable proposals for internal stakeholders, gathering feedback and evaluating their capacity to support the partnership, including the necessary resources for implementation.
2. Learning Needs Analysis & Programme Development
- Conduct training needs analysis to identify capability gaps and professional development priorities based on internal or external learning requests.
- Co-develop structured training programmes with subject matter experts and relevant stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and service priorities.
- Design curricula and learning journeys grounded in adult learning principles and evidence-informed pedagogical frameworks.
- Curate blended learning experiences (e-learning, workshops, experiential learning, workplace learning) to maximise learner engagement and impact, in alignment with our Workplace Learning initiative.
3. Training Delivery & Facilitation
- Facilitate selected training programmes and learning interventions.
- Provide constructive feedback and coaching to learners to support learning transfer to the workplace.
- Evaluate programme effectiveness using participant feedback, learning assessments and post-training impact measures; analyse findings to inform continuous improvement.
4. Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Proactively identify emerging trends, skills gaps, innovation and opportunities in workforce development.
- Recommend enhancements to strengthen learning effectiveness, scalability and sustainability.
- Contribute to the overall strategy and growth of CommCare Academy.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- ACTA/ACLP certification is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in training, learning & development, or adult education.
- Proven track record in conducting training needs analysis, designing curricula, applying adult learning principles and facilitating learning programmes, including hands-on delivery as a trainer.
- Experience working with IHLs or in the community care sector is a plus.
- Strong stakeholder management, proposal writing and partnership development skills.
- Excellent facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining high quality outcomes.
- Proactive, innovative and quick to identify learning gaps and opportunities to enhance impact.
