About the job Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a passionate and resourceful Kitchen Assistant to join our Operations team at St Lukes ElderCare Residence. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and assisting in food service to ensure residents receive safe and nutritious meals. You will focus on dishwashing, kitchen upkeep, and hygiene standards, while contributing to the smooth day-to-day functioning of the kitchen. You will take ownership of cleanliness and support other tasks assigned to uphold a safe and supportive environment for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Wash plates, utensils, and other kitchenware used by residents and staff
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, toilets, and surrounding areas
  • Support food service and preparation activities as directed by the kitchen team
  • Uphold hygiene standards to ensure safe meal provision for residents
  • Carry out additional tasks or roles assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

  • No prior experience required; training will be provided
  • Willingness to work in a kitchen environment and maintain high hygiene standards
  • Willing to work rotating shifts
  • Strong sense of responsibility and teamwork
  • Ability to follow instructions and carry out assigned duties reliably
