Tax Senior | Up to £35,000 DOE | Newcastle-under-Lyme

We are working in partnership with a well-established accountancy practice in Newcastle-under-Lyme that is looking to recruit an experienced Tax Senior to join its existing tax team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a long-standing and varied personal tax client portfolio, including high-net-worth individuals, trusts and estates.

The position would suit a tax professional who enjoys hands-on compliance work, values strong client relationships and is looking to progress within a supportive and technically strong environment.

The Role

As Tax Senior, you will be responsible for managing and supporting the personal tax affairs of an established client base. You will work closely with clients and professional advisers to ensure compliance deadlines are met and advice is delivered accurately and efficiently. The role offers variety across personal tax compliance, trusts and estates work, and capital taxes, with scope to develop your technical expertise further.

Key responsibilities

  • Preparation of Self Assessment Tax Returns for a broad range of personal clients
  • Completion of P11D forms and support with wider personal tax compliance matters
  • Assisting with the preparation of Trust and Estate Tax Returns
  • Supporting Inheritance Tax calculations and related planning work
  • Submission of 60-day Capital Gains Tax reports for UK property disposals
  • Managing Trust Registration Service (TRS) compliance requirements
  • Liaising directly with clients, solicitors and other professional advisers
  • Contributing to internal training and the ongoing technical development of the tax team

About you

  • 3–4+ years experience in a tax-focused role, ideally within practice
  • ATT or CTA qualified, or actively studying towards a tax qualification
  • Strong working knowledge of Self Assessment, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax
  • High level of attention to detail with effective time management skills
  • Confident communicator with a proactive, client-focused approach
  • Collaborative team player who enjoys contributing to shared goals
