Finance Intern
About the job Finance Intern
Job Responsibilities:
- Input and code invoices to the cost center
- Verify supplier invoices - match with supporting documents (Purchase Order, Contract, etc)
- Schedule pay runs based on standard company payment terms
- Preparation & issuance of client invoices
- Update and maintain vendor & client database in a timely manner
- Support the month-end process
- Report on Aged Payables & Aged Receivables plus other ad-hoc reporting where applicable
- Other ad-hoc tasks assigned by line manager
Required skills:
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
- Ability to calculate, post and manage financial records
- Accurate data entry skills
- Ability to build good relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Appropriate handling of sensitive information
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a broader team
- Intermediate computer software skills, including Excel and Accounting packages
Required Academic Background:
- Undergraduate Degree in Finance or Accounting, or Business (completed or in process 4th grade preferably) Degree with a major in Finance or Accounting
