Job Openings Finance Manager

About the job Finance Manager

Where leadership meets the ledger.

Hi! We're Smartsourcing, and we're hiring a full-time, onsite Finance Manager to own month-end close, lead a small finance team, and serve as the key link between Australia-based leadership and the day-to-day running of a finance operation being built in-house.

Where? JEG Tower, Archbishop Reyes, Corner Acacia St., Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City, 6000 Cebu

About the Role

As a Finance Manager, you'll own the month-end close, prepare twice-monthly lender reports and monthly leadership reporting, and oversee the outputs of the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable/Fleet, and Payroll & Compliance team members. You'll review and approve reconciliations across multiple group entities, safeguard the integrity of the ledger, and act as second-in-command to the Australia-based Financial Controller. It's a structured environment with clear processes that still demands sound judgment — and it calls for a low-ego, accountable leader who can coach a junior team, keep it engaged as priorities shift, and continually look for ways to streamline and automate manual work.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Team Leadership & Oversight

  • Oversee and review all outputs from the AR, AP/Fleet, and Payroll & Compliance team members
  • Support, coach, and develop junior finance staff
  • Act as second-in-command to the Financial Controller, keeping the team accountable, engaged, and delivering to standard

Month-End Close & Management Reporting

  • Own the month-end close process, including accruals and prepayments
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and the monthly management pack
  • Prepare consolidated financial reports across the group (operating, asset, and holding entities), including intercompany eliminations

Statutory, Compliance & Lender Reporting

  • Produce lender reports twice monthly
  • Support external compliance requirements including BAS, FBT, and payroll tax, plus year-end audit and statutory financial statements
  • Prepare monthly reporting for the CFO and CEO

Financial Controls & Reconciliations

  • Review and approve bank reconciliations across all group entities
  • Safeguard financial controls across AR, AP/Fleet, and Payroll

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Assist with ERP and Xero system administration and data integrity
  • Identify and act on process-improvement opportunities across the finance function
  • Reduce manual effort by building automations, including through approved AI tools

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Readiness and Digital Enablement

  • Maintain baseline AI literacy and use approved AI tools responsibly, in line with company policies, data privacy, information security, and client confidentiality obligations
  • Apply sound judgment by validating outputs and avoiding overreliance, ensuring accuracy and accountability in all work delivered
  • Participate in AI readiness trainings and proactively identify opportunities for process improvement through automation and responsible AI integration
