EL1 Senior Business Analyst
Job Description:
Key Duties & Responsibilities
As a Business Analyst, you will work across multidisciplinary teams to deliver fit-for-purpose digital solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

Analysing and modelling current and future-state business processes, systems, and information management environments

Analysing data requirements, user pathways, and information flows
-
Conducting stakeholder engagement activities, workshops, and interviews to elicit business and user needs
-
Collaborating with technical specialists to design practical, scalable solutions

Developing high-quality documentation including:
-
Business Requirements Specifications (BRS)
-
Business Cases
-
Functional & Non-Functional Specifications
-
Process Maps and Data Models
-
User Stories and Acceptance Criteria
-
Service Design Artefacts
-
Communication and Change Management Plans
-
Reports and briefings
-
-
Undertaking investigations and technical research aligned with departmental policies, legislation, and standards
-
Evaluating solution options (custom and configured) and translating business requirements into technical specifications
-
Assessing solutions from a strategic, whole-of-government perspective
-
Working within Agile delivery environments, contributing to complex ICT and website development initiatives

Candidates must address all criteria in a one-page pitch (up to 5,000 characters):

Workshop Facilitation & Business Analysis
Demonstrated experience facilitating workshops and analysing complex information from multiple sources to understand business and user needs, identify inefficiencies, and translate outcomes into technical artefacts (e.g. requirements, process maps, data models, use cases). -
User Stories & Acceptance Criteria
Proven experience developing clear, concise user stories and acceptance criteria that enable effective development and testing. -
Agile Delivery Experience
Experience working on complex digital projects in Agile environments, managing interdependencies and supporting team workflows. -
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable Criteria

Experience implementing Information Technology Services

Experience documenting requirements for Sitecore

Experience using Azure DevOps for user story creation and acceptance criteria tracking

Experience or knowledge of Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Azure Cloud, and Google Analytics
