We are currently hiring Field Chief Technology Officer (CTO) - AI and Cloud Services for our client in the Toronto area, which specializes in OS development for AI and data stacks.

Salary Range: $185,000 - $210,000 as base salary depending on overall experience + stock options + 3 weeks vacation + benefits

Our client is building the worlds first operating system for data and AI. Like iOS, Windows and Linux, our clients' end-to-end OS offers ever-evolving, automatically operated, best-of-breed open-source components tailored to each of their clients unique needs.
The Role
As Field CTO, you will lead a growing team of solution engineers, serve as the bridge between product capabilities and customer needs, and be hands-on in both architecture and client strategy. You will play a critical role in pre- and post-sales engagements, ensuring our customers are successful from onboarding through long-term adoption.
What You'll Do
- Own the end-to-end technical engagement lifecycle for key clients
- Lead and scale a high-performing team of solution engineers
- Partner with sales, product, and engineering to define technical strategy in deals
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by designing and delivering scalable solutions
- Translate customer feedback into actionable insights for the product roadmap
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, demos, and POCs
- Ensure the team consistently delivers high-quality solutions with a strong customer focus
Required Experience
- 10+ years of experience in a client-facing technical role (e.g., solutions engineering, sales engineering, solutions architecture) ideally in the SaaS/AI/Data space
- Proven leadership experience and a passion for mentoring and team-building
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and modern engineering practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with cross-functional teams
- Experience with data engineering, ML pipelines, or enterprise SaaS is a strong asset
- Ideally you will also have experience with tools like Kubernetes, Airflow, dbt, or cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Background in software development or DevOps
- Familiarity with the data/ML tooling ecosystem
