About the Role
We're looking for a Product Operations Specialist to own onboarding, and ongoing engagement, for local government jurisdictions adopting SolarAPP+. This role is responsible for actively managing a portfolio of jurisdictions, leading product onboarding for new jurisdictions, and ensuring partners remain supported and successful after launch. You'll proactively identify and resolve blockers, maintain momentum through the onboarding process, and build trusted relationships that strengthen long-term partnerships. You'll also capture jurisdiction-specific insights and translate those into actionable product feedback that helps SolarAPP+ improve, and drive, usage.
Who you'll report to: This role reports to Stacie Varian, Product Operations Manager, who oversees jurisdiction onboarding strategy, execution, and ongoing operational success for both you and SolarAPP.
Who you'll work closely with: Outreach, product, and cross-functional partners. Our Outreach team helps build and manage relationships with jurisdictions nationwide and works closely with onboarding to ensure a strong handoff, consistent engagement, and long-term success for every partner. Our product team works closely with onboarding to ensure jurisdiction needs are being met. Our cross-functional partners work to build awareness of SolarAPP+ and welcome input from onboarding on trends.
What You'll Do
This role balances structured onboarding execution, active account management, and continuous platform improvement. You'll keep jurisdictions moving forward while strengthening their onboarding experience with SolarAPP+.
Lead Jurisdiction Onboarding & Adoption
- Own onboarding from kickoff through go-live for assigned jurisdictions
- Collaborate with the Outreach team to support jurisdiction go-to-market readiness, and ensure a smooth handoff into onboarding
Maintain clear timelines, milestones, and next steps
- Ensure partners are supported through every stage of onboarding and through adoption
Remove Blockers & Manage Timelines
Identify onboarding delays early and drive resolution
Coordinate internal resources to unblock progress
- Prevent repeat delays by improving processes and documentation
Deliver Walkthroughs & Capture Insights
Lead live, guided walkthroughs of registration and setup
- Build familiarity with assigned jurisdictions and their workflows
- Share structured product enhancement insights based on jurisdiction feedback
What You Bring
Essential Skills and Background
- Solar and/or permitting experience (residential solar preferred), or closely related experience in clean energy
- Experience in onboarding, customer success, implementation, operations, or account management
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to diffuse tension and manage customer complaints, concerns, and conflicts professionally
Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage responsibilities independently and reliably see work through to completion
- Confidence leading live walkthroughs, adapting in real time, and serving as a professional representative of SolarAPP in jurisdiction meetings
Additional Preferred Skills and Background
- Experience working with local governments or regulated workflows
- Experience in mission-driven or fast-growing organizations
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time role with a competitive salary ranging from $70,000-$80,000, commensurate with experience.
