Position: Project Engineering Manager Water & Wastewater Conveyance

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Project Engineering Manager to lead the engineering execution of multiple projects in the water and wastewater sector, including advanced treatment facilities, underground conveyance systems, and carbon-neutral infrastructure solutions.

The Team

Our Water Solutions team delivers innovative and integrated planning, design, and construction support for mission-critical water and wastewater infrastructure.

We partner with clients to align people, processes, and technology to modernize water systems, optimize asset utilization, meet performance targets, and enhance cost efficiency. The team is recognized among the leading water design organizations in areas such as water supply, wastewater conveyance, and treatment solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution:

  • Prepare complex engineering deliverables across multiple or large-scale projects

  • Conduct research and develop recommendations for equipment, materials, and technical approaches

  • Perform advanced engineering analyses and calculations

  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and quality assurance across multiple disciplines

  • Lead large production teams, coordinate cross-discipline efforts, and serve as the engineer of record

Client Interface:

  • Identify key client needs and project drivers for moderately complex assignments

  • Communicate client feedback and challenges to project teams, developing proactive solutions

  • Support business development activities, including proposal preparation and pursuit efforts

  • Manage project scope changes and client communications under the direction of the Project Manager

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide technical direction for complex water and wastewater treatment and conveyance projects

  • Lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams to achieve project deliverables and performance goals

  • Drive innovation and practical engineering solutions to meet client and project requirements

Management Responsibilities

  • Review and approve work performed by junior engineers and technical staff

  • Manage hiring, mentoring, and performance evaluations for assigned team members

  • Support team capability development and succession planning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • Prior experience in engineering consulting

  • Proven success executing multidisciplinary water and wastewater conveyance projects

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited program

  • Minimum of 8 years of related professional experience

  • Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle record verification in accordance with applicable laws

Work Environment / Physical Demands

  • Hybrid or flexible work options may be available after the first 90 days, depending on performance, role requirements, and manager discretion

  • Extended periods of sitting, standing, and computer usage

  • Proficiency with video and audio conferencing tools for collaboration and communication

  • Occasional travel to client sites as required
