Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead, coordinate, and manage all aspects of brownfield projects at substations, switching stations, and renewable energy interconnection sites. This role reports to the Senior Program Manager and is responsible for overseeing project delivery, maintaining profitability, meeting deadlines, and fostering strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from initiation through completion, including site selection, permitting, environmental review, planning, estimating, engineering, right-of-way acquisition, procurement, construction oversight, and project closeout.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, manage scope, and control budgets to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.

  • Act as the primary liaison with the client for coordination, strategic planning, scope management, budgeting, subcontracting, staffing, compliance, and schedule performance.

  • Ensure adherence to internal safety programs, policies, and standards. Collaborate with the team to oversee safety and health compliance among project personnel and contractors.

  • Support proposal development and contribute to maintaining and strengthening client relationships.

  • Create and implement site mobilization and demobilization plans in coordination with construction and site managers.

  • Oversee the permitting process to secure all necessary approvals for project execution.

  • Manage the bidder prequalification process and contractor selection efforts.

  • Prepare and support Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, scope development, bid evaluation, and contract award documentation.

  • Implement and oversee contract administration, including submittals, RFIs, change management, and claims mitigation.

  • Monitor project cost reporting, work breakdown structures, scheduling, and progress tracking throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Report regularly on project performance, risks, milestones, costs, and cash flow to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Assist in invoicing processes for prime contracts, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • Maintain proper project documentation, including filing systems and records management.

  • Ensure compliance with project requirements regarding insurance, licensing, taxes, and bonds.

  • Support safety, quality, progress, and financial audits as needed.

  • Manage material handling processes, including inventory control, receiving, storage, and logistics.

  • Work closely with superintendents and site teams to ensure contract compliance, safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

  • Lead project turnover activities, including documentation, record retention, warranty management, and final closeout.

  • Enforce company policies and procedures to ensure project compliance at all stages.

  • Provide consistent updates on schedule, cost, procurement, safety, design issues, and other critical matters.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited program.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with high-voltage substation projects (physical and P&C), including at least 3 years in a project management role.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including clients, government agencies, and contractors.

  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Willingness to travel as required; must possess a valid drivers license and meet company driving standards.
