Job Summary:
As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and expertise across conventional power generation projects. This role includes managing electrical design deliverables, supporting project teams, and engaging directly with clients and construction teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of electrical design deliverables:

    • One-line and three-line diagrams

    • Motor schematics, breaker control schematics, and wiring diagrams

    • Power cable sizing and cable schedules

  • Perform complex engineering analyses using ETAP or SKM, including:

    • Load flow, short circuit, motor starting, arc flash studies

    • Protective relay settings

    • Battery and charger sizing

  • Develop specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement and construction

  • Estimate man-hours and schedules for projects and proposals

  • Attend site meetings, assess existing conditions, and provide construction support

  • Utilize Microsoft Office, ProjectWise, ETAP, AutoCAD, and other relevant software tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) License

  • Experience in utility-scale conventional power generation design (e.g., combined cycle, simple cycle)

  • Prior engineering consulting experience in LV/MV systems

  • QA/QC and project leadership background

  • Strong understanding of NEC, IEEE, and ANSI standards

  • Familiarity with MV/LV switchgear, transformers (GSUT, UAT), panel boards, relays, inverters, batteries, disconnects, surge arresters, and various cable types

  • Skills in written communication, planning, delegation, conflict resolution, and team leadership

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of 5 years of related engineering experience

  • Must be able to meet all pre-employment requirements, including background checks and drug screening

Engineering Standards & Quality:

  • Applies current knowledge of design guides, codes, and company standards

  • Leads quality assurance and compliance with company programs

  • Supports process improvement initiatives

Project & Client Coordination:

  • Prepares complex deliverables and technical calculations

  • Coordinates with internal and external teams

  • Supports client communication and business development efforts

Licensing:

  • PE license preferred or must be actively pursuing registration depending on work scope
