The Project Engineer III role is part of the Transmission Line Engineering team, responsible for performing engineering tasks and providing technical expertise to address design challenges with limited supervision. The position involves executing a variety of routine tasks that help build experience and familiarity with engineering staff, methods, practices, and programs. This role reports to the Transmission Engineering Manager.

Requirements
The level of supervision for this position will depend on the candidate's experience and qualifications.

  • Contribute to the design and evaluation of transmission and distribution overhead power lines to ensure client needs are met in the most efficient and cost-effective way.
  • Engage in Overhead Transmission & Distribution Design using PLS-CADD software, from creating new models to making minor revisions to existing ones.
  • Review engineering plans, specifications, and equipment for utility projects.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
  • Support the ongoing development of standards for both the company and clients, providing guidelines for future project planning and design.
  • Perform basic tasks using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Interface effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Undertake additional duties related to project management and other responsibilities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Must hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
