Position Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Utility Consulting Director to lead a high-performing team of consultants and analysts. This role involves overseeing project execution, ensuring quality deliverables, managing budgets and schedules, supporting proposal development, and cultivating strong client relationships. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader who demonstrates commitment, integrity, and excellence in service, while also mentoring team members and driving innovation.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee the full lifecycle of consulting projects, including pursuit strategy, negotiations, execution, scheduling, budgeting, and delivery quality.

Facilitate strategic workshops with senior client stakeholders to understand requirements, uncover challenges, and define actionable solutions.

Anticipate and address client needs with proactive, innovative, and high-impact strategies.

Coordinate closely with project personnel and department leadership to align project direction, ensure efficient communication, and manage internal and external expectations.

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout project execution, maintaining transparency and responsiveness.

Prepare and deliver detailed status reports to stakeholders, highlighting project progress, budget performance, and key risks.

Foster a culture of curiosity, continuous improvement, and strategic risk-taking within the team.

Assemble and manage multidisciplinary project teams, optimizing staffing and resources across efforts.

Provide performance input to managers regarding team members and contribute to training programs and development materials.

Manage third-party vendors and subcontractors, including scope, contracts, budgets, and schedules.

Identify and pursue opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and value-added services to existing clients.

Apply creative problem-solving approaches, leveraging modern tools, technologies, and industry best practices to drive clarity and momentum.

Oversee timely and accurate processing of contract, subcontractor, and supplier invoicing in alignment with agreed terms.

Provide day-to-day leadership, task direction, and mentorship to consultants and analysts.
Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution; MBA preferred.

Minimum of 13 years of experience in consulting or utility-related fields, with a strong track record of successful project leadership.

Demonstrated success in managing complex consulting engagements and building trusted client relationships.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly interpret and synthesize large data sets.
