Key Account Manager – Food Service

We are looking for a Key Account Manager – Food Service (KAM FS) with a strong commercial mindset and strategic vision to lead business development across the Caribbean region. This role is critical to driving growth, strengthening key client relationships, and ensuring flawless execution of commercial strategies.

Role Purpose

Act as a business leader responsible for developing new opportunities and delivering sustainable growth across assigned markets, ensuring KPI achievement and strong collaboration with distributors and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and management of key Food Service / HORECA accounts.
  • Manage and coach Sales Executives and/or Field Operations Specialists (FOS).
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with Major End Users (MEUs).
  • Deliver on KPIs including volume (metric tons), gross profit, DSO, and JBP execution.
  • Drive market penetration and category development, focusing on high-margin products.
  • Spend 30%–50% of time in the field (2–3 days per week).
  • Analyze distributor sell-out data and inventory to optimize route-to-market strategies.
  • Own and manage the sales pipeline through Salesforce CRM.
  • Coordinate and lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with distributors/clients.
  • Support and execute marketing initiatives and ensure proper use of POS materials.
  • Monitor competitor pricing and market positioning.
  • Develop financial performance analysis by category and account.
  • Align with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Finance) on strategic planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • MBA or relevant Master's degree (preferred).
  • 5–7 years of sales experience, ideally in Food Service or FMCG.
  • Proven experience managing distributors and HORECA channels.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
  • Valid driver's license and U.S. visa (mandatory).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Highly results-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently.

Role Conditions

  • Contract type: Independent Contractor (open-ended)
  • High travel availability required (frequent visits to clients and markets)

Compensation Package

Fixed Compensation:

  • Base salary: USD 45,000/year (paid monthly)
  • Car allowance: USD 7,200/year
  • Cellphone allowance: USD 1,800/year
  • Health insurance allowance: USD 1,600/year

Variable Compensation:

  • Monthly commission: up to USD 866.66 (based on KPI achievement)
