Role Overview

The Medical / Pharmaceutical Sales Representative will be responsible for promoting and selling a portfolio of pharmaceutical and healthcare products within an assigned territory (KZN).

This field-based role focuses on building strong professional relationships with healthcare providers, driving product uptake, and achieving agreed sales targets — while maintaining strict compliance with industry regulations and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and detail pharmaceutical and healthcare products to doctors, pharmacists, hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare professionals

  • Develop and implement effective territory plans to meet and exceed sales targets

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers and decision-makers

  • Provide accurate, compliant product information and clinical education

  • Identify new business opportunities and grow market share within the territory

  • Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and customer feedback

  • Attend medical congresses, product launches, and training sessions as required

  • Maintain accurate sales reports, forecasts, and CRM records

  • Ensure full compliance with ethical, regulatory, and company standards

Qualifications & Experience

  • proven experience in pharmaceutical, medical, or healthcare sales

  • Consistent track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets

  • Solid understanding of the pharmaceutical sales environment and healthcare market dynamics

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

  • Strong relationship-building and influencing ability

  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently

  • Strong planning, organisational, and time-management skills

  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct

  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems

Requirements

  • Valid drivers license (essential)

  • Own reliable vehicle

  • Willingness to travel regularly within KwaZulu-Natal
