Role Overview
The Medical / Pharmaceutical Sales Representative will be responsible for promoting and selling a portfolio of pharmaceutical and healthcare products within an assigned territory (Western Cape).
This field-based role focuses on building strong professional relationships with healthcare providers, driving product uptake, and achieving agreed sales targets — while maintaining strict compliance with industry regulations and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and detail pharmaceutical and healthcare products to doctors, pharmacists, hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare professionals
- Develop and implement effective territory plans to meet and exceed sales targets
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers and decision-makers
- Provide accurate, compliant product information and clinical education
- Identify new business opportunities and grow market share within the territory
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and customer feedback
- Attend medical congresses, product launches, and training sessions as required
- Maintain accurate sales reports, forecasts, and CRM records
- Ensure full compliance with ethical, regulatory, and company standards
Qualifications & Experience
- 2–5 years proven experience in pharmaceutical, medical, or healthcare sales
- Consistent track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Solid understanding of the pharmaceutical sales environment and healthcare market dynamics
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Strong relationship-building and influencing ability
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently
- Strong planning, organisational, and time-management skills
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems
Requirements
- Valid drivers license (essential)
- Own reliable vehicle
Willingness to travel regularly within Western Cape
