Job Description Account Manager

Summary

The Account Manager is responsible for selling the companys products to authorized business and industrial establishments, or individuals, either from the sales office, showroom, or at the customers place of business. The role includes maintaining relationships with existing clients, identifying new business opportunities, and achieving assigned sales and profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales, revenue, and profitability targets within the allocated client base or area.

  • Identify and develop new clients within the allocated area.

  • Provide regular feedback and activity reports as required by management and ISO procedures.

  • Present potential solutions to clients and negotiate Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in line with company policies and client expectations.

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet company objectives, targets, and budgets.

  • Review market trends to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate pricing and discount structures.

  • Deliver professional sales presentations and product demonstrations to clients.

  • Maintain regular contact with clients, providing quotations, literature, technical support, marketing material, and training as required.

  • Monitor competitor activities and provide feedback to management.

  • Ensure CRM systems are kept up to date with accurate client information, including contact details, decision-makers, and engagement activities.

  • Use company sales tools effectively, including marketing and product resources.

  • Schedule and conduct regular client visits to maintain relationships and drive sales closure.

  • Assist with preparation of client quotations in accordance with company procedures and SLAs.

  • Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and product launches as scheduled.

  • Participate in stock takes and maintain ISO compliance.

  • Monitor debtors in collaboration with the finance department to ensure timely payment collection.

  • Adhere to company pricing policies, discount structures, and SLA procedures.

  • Attend internal meetings as required by management.

  • Provide technical support to clients telephonically or on-site when necessary.

  • Provide after-hours client support where required.

  • Support fellow Account Managers during periods of absence (e.g., illness or leave).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Matric certificate (Grade 12).

  • 3-5 years experience in the security industry.

  • Valid drivers license.

  • Fully insured, roadworthy, and licensed vehicle suitable for business use.

  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems).

  • Proven sales track record.

  • Sales-related qualification and/or training advantageous.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Must be available for regular travel within the assigned territory.

  • May occasionally be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

  • Noise levels in the work environment are typically moderate.

  • Must be able to perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines.
