Contract: 5 months 

The consultant will work from the Product Management Office and collaborate closely with engineering and architecture teams to support the operationalization and maturation of Azure and AWS cloud products. The Senior Technical Architect will have extensive experience in operationalizing Azure and AWS public cloud services across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments. This includes integrating, configuring, and enabling cloud products for enterprise use while ensuring they comply with OPS IT standards, security guardrails, and governance frameworks. Examples include data and analytics platforms (such as Microsoft Fabric), management and monitoring tools, and identity and governance services that enable secure, standardized, and scalable cloud adoption across the organization.

The consultant will deliver tangible outcomes such as the development of business cases and executive materials to support decision-making and investment planning, integration and enablement of prioritized Azure and AWS cloud products, implementation of management and governance tools aligned with enterprise standards, and documentation of operational procedures and compliance frameworks that strengthen the overall product management practice.

The Senior Technical Architect will have:

  • Extensive experience operationalizing Azure and AWS cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) within large, complex enterprise or government environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cloud governance, identity management (e.g., Microsoft Entra ID, AWS IAM), and data sovereignty requirements.
  • Experience with data and analytics platforms (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, AWS RDS) and related management and monitoring tools.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with technical architects, engineers, and product managers to translate strategy into operational outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, automation, and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills to support alignment across technical and business teams.

Product Roadmaps: Development and maintenance of detailed product roadmaps outlining the sequencing, dependencies, and timelines for onboarding and maturing Azure and AWS cloud services within the OPS environment.

Operationalized Cloud Products: Azure and AWS services configured, integrated, and made available for enterprise consumption in alignment with OPS IT standards, governance frameworks, and security guardrails. This includes key platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and management and governance tools (e.g., Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Monitor, AWS Identity and Access Management).

Implementation Playbooks and Runbooks: Documentation outlining integration steps, configuration parameters, release processes, and operational support procedures for each cloud product.

Product Onboarding Frameworks: Standardized onboarding materials and reusable templates that enable developer and product teams to securely adopt and consume cloud services.

Architecture and Design Artifacts: Solution diagrams, configuration blueprints, and decision records developed in collaboration with solution and platform architects.

Governance and Compliance Alignment Reports: Documentation confirming adherence to OPS governance, data sovereignty, and identity management requirements.

Automation and Optimization Plans: Recommendations or implemented workflows that enhance reliability, reduce manual effort, and improve cost efficiency.

Knowledge Transfer and Training Materials: Sessions, guides, and reference materials to ensure effective transition of operational knowledge to OPS teams.

Roadmap and Progress Reports: Regular updates outlining progress toward product enablement milestones, risks, dependencies, and integration timelines for Azure and AWS products.
