Staff Software Engineer - API Platform

Our client is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join a group dedicated to building the foundation that powers modern robotics applications. Our goal is to deliver secure, scalable, and intuitive APIs and SDKs that empower both internal and external developers to innovate without needing to manage the complexities of robotics infrastructure.

By abstracting away the low-level systems of robotics, our platform enables teams across our organization and our customers to easily build, deploy, and scale intelligent robotic solutions across various industries, including restaurants, hotels, warehouses, and manufacturing environments worldwide.

You will need:

• Experience designing and building scalable production backend systems, including 2+ years in a staff-level engineering role.
• Proven expertise in system architecture, API design, and backend infrastructure for high-performance applications.
• Successfully architected and maintained both public-facing and internal APIs at scale, with a deep understanding of API-first design, versioning, pagination, and schema specifications such as Protobuf and OpenAPI.
• Backend generalist with advanced proficiency in Go (Golang) and similar compiled languages, with strong foundations in networking.

• Have 8+ years of experience building production backend systems with system design, architecture, and releasing APIs, including at least 2+ years in a staff role.
• Have architected and maintained public or internal APIs at scale, and deeply understand API-first thinking, versioning, pagination, and Protobuf/OpenAPI specifications.
• Are a backend generalist with deep experience in Go (or similar languages), and strong fundamentals in networking, concurrency, and distributed systems.
• Operate effectively in cloud-native environments (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform), and have shipped resilient services in production.
