DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and design menus in consultation with management, considering customer preferences and seasonal ingredients.
- Supervise and coordinate all kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and kitchen assistants.
- Ensure consistent high-quality preparation and presentation of food.
- Monitor the portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.
- Oversee inventory management and procurement of food supplies within budgetary constraints.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Train and develop kitchen staff, providing mentoring and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally related to food quality.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and arrange for repairs or replacements as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES
- Formal culinary training/certification (e.g., diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent).
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in a senior kitchen role, including at least 2 years as a Head Chef.
- Strong knowledge of international cuisines (includes but not limited to innovative dishes for breakfast, brunch and dinner), kitchen management and food safety standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
WORK SCHEDULE & CONDITIONS
- 6 days per week, day off rotates.
- Shift work from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
- Fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- On-call availability may be required for emergencies.
