DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and design menus in consultation with management, considering customer preferences and seasonal ingredients.
  • Supervise and coordinate all kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and kitchen assistants.
  • Ensure consistent high-quality preparation and presentation of food.
  • Monitor the portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.
  • Oversee inventory management and procurement of food supplies within budgetary constraints.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
  • Train and develop kitchen staff, providing mentoring and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally related to food quality.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and arrange for repairs or replacements as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES

  • Formal culinary training/certification (e.g., diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent).
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in a senior kitchen role, including at least 2 years as a Head Chef.
  • Strong knowledge of international cuisines (includes but not limited to innovative dishes for breakfast, brunch and dinner), kitchen management and food safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

WORK SCHEDULE & CONDITIONS

  • 6 days per week, day off rotates.
  • Shift work from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
  • Fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • On-call availability may be required for emergencies.
