A leading Global Biotech Company is seeking a Cell Line Development Research Associate to support the creation of stable cell lines for rAAV production. Responsibilities include culturing mammalian cells, conducting experiments to develop and optimize AAV producer cell lines, and preparing technical documentation. The role also involves optimizing transfection/transduction protocols, maintaining accurate lab records, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and contributing to project teams as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Culturing mammalian cells for viral production in shake flasks, spinner flasks, spin tubes, deep well and automation platforms.
- Performing experiments in the development, optimization and scale-up of AAV producer cell lines.
- Preparing process development protocols, data analysis summaries, technical reports, and other relevant process documentation.
- Optimization of transfection and transduction protocols for newly engineered cell lines.
- Maintaining an accurate laboratory notebook.
- Ensuring work conforms to applicable quality and safety standards.
- Participating in project teams (as needed).
Qualifications:
- B.S. with 5+ years of experience, MS.c with 3+ years of relevant scientific or technical experience in the life sciences industry or equivalent
- Experience in cell culture including materials, instruments and technologies is essential.
- Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture production processes including small scale (shaker flasks, spinner flasks, spin tubes, deep well) and/or benchtop bioreactor scale.
Preferred:
- Experience with viral vector production.
- Experience with creation, analysis and characterization of new engineered cell lines and stability studies (subcloning, clonal expansion, transient transfection and expression screening).
- Experience in molecular biology techniques (plasmid design, molecular cloning, SDS-PAGE/western blotting, qPCR, etc).
- Experience with laboratory automation and ELN systems (hardware, software)
- Basic Knowledge of AAV biology.
