About the job Federal Account Executive
Job Summary
The Federal Account Executive is responsible for driving revenue growth and managing customer relationships within Department of Defense Army accounts in an assigned territory. This role requires strong executive-level selling skills and the ability to lead all inbound and outbound sales efforts, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver on key performance metrics and accelerate strategic sales initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through closing with Federal and DoD Army customers.
- Build and maintain trust-based relationships with senior-level executives and decision-makers.
- Identify and align customer mission objectives with required capabilities and skills.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive territory plan in partnership with Business Development, Marketing, Professional Services, and Customer Success teams.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline, accurately forecast opportunities, and manage sales processes in a relationship-based environment.
- Lead customer education initiatives by guiding clients through the adoption cycle, co-developing success criteria, and tailoring recommendations.
- Drive strategic growth within existing accounts while generating new business opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required.
- 8 years of sales experience, including Federal/DoD contract management.
- Proven track record in SaaS solution sales to government executives across all phases of the sales cycle.
- Proficiency with Salesforce or comparable CRM tools.
- Familiarity with DCWF/8140 compliance requirements.
- Strong background in solution and consultative sales, including multi-year recurring revenue contracts.
- Extensive experience in business development, prospecting, and building new opportunities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, planning, and forecasting skills.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling SaaS solutions in multi-year contracts to C-Suite leaders.
- Advanced degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
