Summary
The Electric Motor Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, disassembling, repairing, and testing a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment, including AC/DC motors, generators, pumps, and gearboxes. This role ensures repairs are completed accurately and safely, following OEM, EASA, and customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, disassemble, repair, and test electrical and mechanical equipment, including AC/DC motors, generators, pumps, and gearboxes
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, high-pot testers, growlers, micrometers, and calipers to ensure accurate measurements and troubleshooting
- Conduct failure analysis, document findings, and follow proper procedures for part identification and reassembly
- Perform in-house and on-site repairs while adhering to OEM, EASA, and customer specifications
- Maintain accurate records of testing, troubleshooting, and final quality checks
- Follow all mechanical and electrical safety practices
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 to 3 years of experience in industrial electric motor repair or relevant training (EASA or military experience acceptable)
- Proven experience as a Motor Mechanic with industrial electric motors (automotive motor experience not acceptable)
- Strong skills in diagnostics, repair, and mechanical/electrical safety practices
