Environment Service Attendant

Summary:

The Environmental Services Attendant plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all building occupants. This position may work in any location on client premises, including commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, schools, universities, or other institutions. As a lead or contributing team member, the Environmental Services Attendant is responsible for executing daily cleaning tasks and maintaining sanitation standards in assigned areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize floors, restrooms, patient rooms, classrooms, offices, and common areas.
• Remove trash and recyclables and replace liners in designated areas.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and other tools safely and effectively.
• Replenish supplies such as soap, paper products, and hand sanitizer.
• Follow all infection control and safety procedures, especially in healthcare and high-risk environments.
• Communicate with supervisors or team leads regarding supply needs, safety concerns, or special cleaning requests.
• Maintain equipment and report maintenance issues promptly.
• May assist with training or guiding new team members.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous janitorial, housekeeping, or custodial experience a plus.
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, and walk for extended periods.
• Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety practices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to follow instructions, both verbal and written.
• Must pass background check and/or health screening if required by client site.
