About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Facilities and Maintenance Engineer to support our manufacturing operations in Waterloo, IA. This position plays a key role in the planning, coordination, and execution of preventive maintenance strategies, infrastructure upgrades, and engineering support projects across the facility. You will work closely with skilled trades professionals and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans for production equipment; enter plans into SAP (or similar CMMS) to enable scheduling and workload balancing.
- Design infrastructure and systems for facility grounds, utilities, and production machinery.
- Manage projects related to facility infrastructure and manufacturing equipment, coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Troubleshoot issues related to facility infrastructure and production machinery, especially during critical downtime events.
- Conduct root cause analysis and provide solutions to improve equipment reliability and process efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for maintenance activities and engineering projects.
- Ensure projects stay within budget using appropriate cost control systems.
- Perform safety, life, and building code analysis and support the implementation of programs to reduce risks, injuries, and illnesses.
- Identify and mitigate environmental, ergonomic, and safety-related concerns.
- Source qualified suppliers for project-related materials and services; prepare and submit purchase requisitions for approval.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field or equivalent hands-on experience in a similar role.
- Experience in mechanical design, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance principles and procedures.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar CMMS platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and analysis.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.

- May require occasional travel within the local area using personal or company-provided vehicles.
- Interviews may be conducted onsite or via MS Teams. Candidate must be available to start onsite.
