Maintenance Planner
Location: Waterloo, Iowa
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM 3:30 PM); periodic off-shift hours may be required
Onsite only minimal overtime expected

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner to support the efficient operation of our plant facilities and equipment. This role focuses on scheduling and planning both preventive and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring minimal downtime and compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, organized, and capable of coordinating across teams to ensure all maintenance needs are met with precision and timeliness.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prioritize jobs for maintenance personnel, focusing on preventive and corrective needs
  • Receive maintenance requests and assign tasks to skilled trades personnel
  • Coordinate with external vendors for scheduled and unscheduled activities
  • Determine and initiate spare parts setup for production and facility equipment
  • Provide technical support by reviewing procedures and identifying necessary tools and parts
  • Source vendor quotes and issue purchase orders for parts and materials
  • Track and report on inventory to support cost reduction efforts
  • Maintain preventative maintenance reports to support uptime and compliance (OSHA/ANSI)
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to improve maintenance efficiency and reliability

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and apply geometric dimensioning
  • Proficient in computer systems and maintenance tracking tools
  • Knowledge of manufacturing or distribution environments, including safety and tooling standards

Experience & Qualifications

  • 13 years of experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and related tools
  • 13 years in manufacturing, operations, or industrial maintenance environments
  • 13 years of hands-on experience in mechanical, hydraulic, or electronics fields
  • Associate or Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Technology, or Maintenance-related fields
  • Mechanical/electrical aptitude with ability to work on the shop floor (~30% of the time)
  • Valid drivers license required for operating personal or company vehicles
  • Business casual attire required; metatarsal safety footwear required starting day one
