Position: Shipyard Industrial Sand-Blaster

Position Overview:

As a Shipyard Industrial Sand-Blaster, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces for painting and coating by using sandblasting equipment. You will work in a shipyard environment, blasting various types of surfaces including steel, concrete, and wood. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate sandblasting equipment to remove rust, paint, and other debris from surfaces

- Prepare surfaces for painting and coating by using various blasting techniques

- Inspect surfaces to ensure proper preparation and identify any areas that require additional blasting

- Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

- Maintain and clean sandblasting equipment and work area

- Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure work is completed efficiently and to high quality standards

- Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used

- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Industrial Sand-Blaster in a shipyard or similar environment

- Knowledge of different blasting techniques and equipment

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
