NordStaff Solutions is a leading staffing agency in the maritime industry, providing top-quality personnel to shipyards and other maritime companies. We are currently seeking a skilled Shipyard Welder to join our team in Turku, Finland.
As a Welder, you will be responsible for welding and fabricating metal components used in the construction and repair of ships. You will work closely with the shipbuilding team to ensure that all welding tasks are completed to the highest quality standards and within project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks following project specifications and safety guidelines
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and other technical documents
- Use a variety of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, to join metal components
- Inspect and test welded joints to ensure they meet quality standards
- Repair and modify existing welds as needed
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time and within budget
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience. We are mainly looking for professionals who have 5-10 years of experience.
- Experience with various welding methods and materials.Must be specified if experience is on shipyard and/or workshops.
- Methods: MIG/MAG, TIG, stick, and spot welding.
- Materials: black steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and copper.
- Weld components: plates, pipes, and other products, ensuring high-quality and precise welds.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine welding requirements.
- Conduct welding in various positions (1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, 6G)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work
- Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in a shipyard environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical stamina and ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Welding certification or training is a plus
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
