About the role
Were looking for a driven and technically skilled Sales Engineer to support our Infrastructure & Construction division. In this key role, youll serve as the primary technical bridge between clients and internal teams, helping to craft innovative, value-based solutions for complex projects. Youll combine engineering insight with business acumen to support growth initiatives, influence project scope, and build lasting client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
· Client Relationship Management Cultivate and manage relationships with contractors, consultants, developers, and municipal stakeholders in the infrastructure and construction sectors.
· Technical Sales & Support Partner with engineering, estimating, and project management teams to create tailored technical proposals, bids, and cost estimates that align with project requirements.
· Project Scoping & Site Visits Conduct site evaluations and feasibility assessments to understand client objectives and project constraints.
· Industry Engagement Stay informed on market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive activity. Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and industry functions to increase visibility and generate leads.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as a technical advisor during project handoffs, ensuring alignment between sales commitments and execution plans.
· Continuous Improvement Provide feedback to internal teams on client needs, market opportunities, and areas for innovation in products or services.
· Additional Duties Perform other responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
· Education Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
· Experience 3+ years of experience in technical sales, engineering, or business development within infrastructure or construction.
· Technical Competence Ability to interpret engineering drawings, project specifications, and technical documentation. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and procurement workflows.
· Communication Skills Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to build trust and credibility with technical and non-technical audiences.
· Work Ethic Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently.
· Tools & Travel
o Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesmate experience is a plus)
o Valid drivers license and willingness to travel regionally as needed
