About Us Our Surgical practice is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and experienced medical secretary to join our team. Our practice consists of a Physician and their PA, and our Surgeon and their PA (this  role). The successful candidate will support our surgeon while working alongside the Physician’s PA, giving you that great balance between working autonomously and being in a team environment. About You As a Medical Secretary, you will bring experience from a similar role, along with a warm and empathetic demeanour that enables you to provide outstanding customer service. Your proactive approach and knack for streamlining processes will help ensure the smooth operation of our practice while ensuring our patients get the best. The ideal candidate will possess: Excellent Communication Skills with a Positive Mindset: You will be the face of and represent our practice, interacting with patients and healthcare professionals both in person and via phone, maintaining professionalism and warmth in every interaction. Empathy & Strong Patient Focus: You are committed to supporting patients with care and compassion, ensuring they feel heard and valued throughout their journey. IT Proficiency: Troubleshooting IT issues is second nature to you, and you are confident using the medical software (Genie proficiency required). Team Player with Independence : While you can work independently, you also enjoy being part of a small, cohesive team and contributing to the overall success of the practice. Attention to Detail & Organisational Skills: Your ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in everything you do is your strong suit. Key Responsibilities: Setting up and managing the consulting rooms and sessions, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients Scheduling appointments and managing the practice’s calendar Answering phone calls and managing patient inquiries in an efficient, friendly, and courteous manner Providing general administrative support to the Surgeon including Personal Assistant ad-hoc duties Uploading referrals, taking payments, and assisting with reception duties along with scanning, filing, and other general administrative duties Assisting with theatre bookings, theatre billing, and payment processing. Maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of medical files and office records at all times Ability to cover leave (with notice) for our other PA/Medical Secretary What We Offer: Opportunities for professional growth and training An empathetic and supportive team environment On-site car parking Competitive remuneration above the award rate, based on experience Days: 4-5 days a week. Hours/days are negotiable for the right candidate. Pay rate: $35.00 – $38.00 per hour plus Super Travel to the Angaston practice once a month will be required.
