Iluka has also established a significant position in rare earth elements (rare earths). About the role An exciting opportunity exists for a self-motivated and experienced Business Improvement Specialist to join our Innovation and Improvement team to play a key role in embedding Iluka’s CORE continuous improvement program across all locations. The role will work closely with the operational leadership teams to manage and deliver improvement portfolios, supporting them to meet or exceed their performance KPI’s. The Business Improvement Specialist will also coach site representatives in the application of lean improvement practices. This is an opportunity for a driven individual to make Improvement at Iluka their own. The role can be Perth based with regular site visits or can be site based at either our Geraldton or North Capel operations. The role will support our site based operational teams servicing all of our Australian Operations. Reporting to the Innovation & Improvement Manager, you will be accountable for the following: Cascade business objectives into improvement targets Embed an improvement mindset across all levels of the workforce Drive the identification of improvement opportunities through workshops and analysis Coach and support employees in the use of continuous improvement methodologies Maintain the Continuous Improvement portfolio and track progress and impact Communicate and report on engagement, delivery and outcomes Influence operational leaders to take ownership of their respective improvement portfolios About you To be successful for this role, you will have: Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the mining or oil & gas industries Lean, Six Sigma or equivalent business or continuous improvement certification Experience leading and directing people without direct authority Strong analytical skills with a data driven approach to problem solving The ability to lead change management activities Extensive experience in developing improvement systems and processes It will also be beneficial if you have: An Engineering, Metallurgy, Commercial or equivalent degree Previous exposure / experience of mineral processing plants Our offer to you Be supported through an inclusive and collaborative culture Up to 18 Weeks paid parental leave Ability to purchase additional annual leave Competitive salary and bonus structures Company share matching scheme You will be supported, empowered, included and encouraged to be the best version of yourself.
