Lead Educator

About the role This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced Educator to join Shorncliffe Kids at the Cliffe OSHC. Based in Shorncliffe, QLD; this role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the school's outside school hours care programs. This is a shared position supported by the leadership team with flexibility for between 20-35 hours per week working mainly block shifts, primarily in the morning or afternoon sessions. What you'll be doing Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the childcare and outside school hours care programs Supervise and support childcare educators, ensuring high-quality care and educational activities for the children Liaise with parents and guardians to address any concerns or queries Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements Support the implementation of policies, procedures and quality improvement initiatives Contribute to the overall planning and development of the outside school hours care services What we're looking for Relevant diploma level qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field Minimum 2 years' experience working in a similar or senior educator role within a childcare or outside school hours care service Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families and educators Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating a team of childcare professionals Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively Sound knowledge of relevant childcare regulations, policies and quality standards Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certifications Child Protection (CHCPRT025 or equivalent) certification or willingness to obtain Current Police Check (National Police Certificate) or ability to obtain Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain) What we offer In addition to a competitive salary, the Shorncliffe State School Parents and Citizens Association offers a range of benefits, including an EAP, opportunities for professional development and a supportive and inclusive work environment.
