Assistant Accountant

We are the largest and most successful reseller of Dassault Systèmes and Graphisoft software in the southern hemisphere. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ·       Accounts Payable & Expense Management: Process AP invoices (approx. 50% of workload), perform weekly payment runs, and manage staff expense reimbursements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in accordance with company policies. ·       Sales Reporting & Revenue Recognition: Conduct weekly sales closing and prepare consolidated sales reports to ensure accurate revenue recognition and provide performance insights for management. ·       Regulatory Compliance & Tax Reporting: Complete Business Activity Statements (BAS), assist with GST and PAYG compliance to ensure adherence to ATO regulations and accounting standards. ·       Banking & Reconciliations: Perform bank reconciliations across multiple entities and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies for accurate cash position reporting. ·       Journal Entries & General Ledger Maintenance: Prepare and post journals for sales, fixed assets, leases and prepayments; maintain supporting schedules and ensure consistency with accounting policies. ·       Cash Flow & Financial Monitoring: Assist in preparing and updating cash flow forecasts to reflect current inflows and outflows, supporting short-term liquidity and planning. ·       Departmental Cost & Variance Analysis: Generate monthly expense reports for HR, IT, and marketing; review structural costs and conduct variance analysis to support monthly close and decision-making. ·       Ad Hoc Support & Continuous Improvement: Provide assistance with audit, year-end processes and ad hoc financial tasks, contributing to ongoing process improvements, data accuracy, and reporting quality. QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE ·       Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related commercial discipline ·       Currently undertaking or commenced professional certification such as CPA or CA ·       Prior experience in accounting or finance-related roles ·       Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and etc. **Only applicants that are able to commit to working full-time from our Pymble office, Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5.00 pm each day.
