Job Description:
The role The Environment and Sustainability Advisor will be responsible for delivering environment and sustainability outcomes across the Sydney Light Rail and Parramatta Light Rail operations. Working flexibly from our offices in Pyrmont, Randwick and Parramatta and from home, you will support the implementation of targeted initiatives and management systems to continuously improve environmental performance, drive sustainable practices, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and client expectations. You will play a key role in managing environmental deliverables, monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), maintaining quality systems, and supporting reporting obligations. Working closely with the Environment and Sustainability Manager, staff, contractors, and key stakeholders you will promote environmental awareness and embed sustainability practices in daily operations. Through these activities you will contribute to the overall success of the Safety & Assurance Team and the broader Transdev business. What you bring · Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. · Proven experience in environmental and sustainability roles. · Experience in the Australian public transport sector (preferred). · Experience in collaborating with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and best practices. · Knowledge and experience in quality management systems related to environmental performance, including ISO14001. · Understanding of NSW and federal environmental regulations and their practical application. · Ability to monitor, assess, and improve environmental performance. · Experience in identifying, assessing, and managing environmental risks · Ability to analyse complex environmental data and contribute to the development of practical environmental strategies, policies, and guidelines. · Experience with GIS, noise monitoring, and contamination management is advantageous.
