Company Overview Our company has been a national industry leader over the past 30 years and is currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic person to join our supportive accounting team in the role of Bookkeeper. The position will be based out of the Port Melbourne office 5 days per week as we believe face to face interaction results in faster outcomes! We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to work for a private shared services company. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for the daily bookkeeping tasks of a number of iconic retail stores. Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the Senior Bookkeeper your duties will include: Daily bank reconciliations Balance sheet reconciliations Facilitating adjustments and following up outstanding accounts Month end close procedures Assist with BAS preparation Liaise with Store, Regional and State Managers Investigate and provide context to variances in General Ledger accounts Ensure financial controls and processes are followed General administrative duties such as data entry, entering invoices, answering phones, etc What you will bring: Minimum of 2+ years of demonstrable experience in a similar position Strong MS Office skills (Excel essential) Studying towards an accounting qualification will be an advantage as we prefer to promote from within the company Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively Team player Why Join Us?
