Tax Accountant and Business Advisory Location: Adelaide CBD Work Type: Full Time Start Date: Negotiable Salary: $110k- $150k - commensurate with experience, qualifications, and the value you bring to the role. The Role: We're looking for an experienced Tax Accountant to join our growing professional services team where we are a leading multidisciplinary financial services firm, integrating financial planning, lending, tax and property advisory under one roof. You'll manage existing client relationships while building new business opportunities in our expanding practice. As our ideal candidate, you'll work directly with business owners, professionals, and retirees, helping them navigate from simple to complex taxation matters. You’ll be responsible for both delivering high-quality tax and advisory services and driving the growth of your portfolio through proactive relationship management. What You'll Be Doing Build, nurture, and retain strong client relationships through year-round engagement, proactive advice, and exceptional service Prepare and review financial statements, corporate and personal tax returns, and compliance documents. Advise clients on tax implications of business decisions, structuring, and strategic planning. Conduct tax research and deliver clear, actionable advice on complex issues. Collaborate with the leadership team to shape business strategy and client experience. Maintain our tax database and ensure compliance with current laws and regulations. What you'll bring (the essentials): At least 5 years’ experience in tax accounting (public practice essential) Confident building and keeping strong client relationships and able to bring in new business or have your own client book (a big plus) Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field Proficient in accounting and tax software, and Microsoft Office You have commercial acumen and a proactive, consultative approach when managing tax affairs. Tax Agent’s License (current) or willingness to obtain registration as a Tax Agent — you must meet the eligibility requirements and be able to complete the registration process with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) Knowledge of current tax legislation and regulations Excellent written and spoken communication skills to communicate effectively on complex matters.
