About the role This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Andrew Walter Constructions as the Manager, Human Resources and Administration. This is a full-time, permanent role and you will be responsible for leading the HR, payroll, workers compensation, administrative and training functions. What you'll be doing Overseeing all aspects of human resources management, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning and development and employee relations Managing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payments and entitlements Administering the workers compensation program, including claims management and return-to-work co-ordination Leading a small administrative team to support the company's goals Maintaining and improving administrative systems and processes to enhance efficiency and productivity Designing and delivering training programs to upskill employees and support their professional development Providing strategic HR advice to the leadership team to support the achievement of organisational goals Ensuring compliance with relevant employment legislation, awards and company policies What we're looking for Significant experience (8+ years) in a senior HR management role, (preferably in the construction or a similar industry, but not essential) Strong understanding of human resources best practices, including recruitment, performance management, and employee relations Proven expertise in payroll and workers compensation administration Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels Proficient in the use of HR and payroll software systems Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related field AWC is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment.
