About The Role: This organisation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced EL1 Assistant Director, Governance and Corporate Reporting , to take on a key leadership role within a high-performing team. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering and shaping essential corporate governance activities, including audit, risk management, fraud control, and integrity frameworks. Level/Classification: EL1 Contract Duration: 12 Months + Possibility of extension (TBC) Location: Canberra, ACT Requirements: Ability and willingness to obtain Security Clearance Ability and willingness to obtain Police Check Selection Criteria Response Key Responsibilities: Coordinate strategic risk reviews and internal reporting processes Manage and deliver the internal audit program in collaboration with external auditors Provide secretariat support for Audit and Risk Committee meetings Lead the development and implementation of the fraud and corruption control plan Manage conflict of interest policies and practices across the agency Develop and deliver high-quality briefings, ministerial submissions, and reports Provide expert advice and strategic insights to senior leadership Lead and develop a small, high-performing governance team Build strong stakeholder relationships across internal and external networks Required Experience and Skills: Strong experience in governance, risk management, internal audit, or similar areas Ability to manage complex projects and governance programs to successful outcomes High-level written communication skills with demonstrated ability to draft clear and strategic documents Sound judgement and the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to develop team capability Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., PGPA Act) is desirable Experience working in or understanding of the public sector landscape is an advantage What You'll Gain: A critical leadership opportunity to shape and implement governance policy Work across the agency and with senior executives on strategic initiatives Strengthen your knowledge of legislative and compliance frameworks Be part of a collaborative and supportive team environment “For further information or a confidential conversation about the EL1 Assistant Director, Governance and Corporate Reporting –role, select 'APPLY NOW' or contact Alyanna Ensenado at 0261137521.
