Senior Lawyer – (Privacy/Administrative Law) – NV1 Clearance - $1040 to $1330 per day inc super - initial secondment to February 2026 with possible 2 x 12 month extensions available – Canberra Location The Role  Our client is seeking a Senior Privacy/Administrative Lawyer to support our client’s implementation of the Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2024 (Cth). The team also provides advice on business as usual privacy law and governance work.   The role will involve providing general administrative law advice and to assist with proceedings in the Administrative Review Tribunal. The Responsibilities The position requires the successful candidate to provide legal advice on the following areas: The implementation of legislative reforms and regulatory compliance; privacy law compliance and governance processes;  administrative law, including decision-making and litigation; and the development of legislation. The Requirements   The successful candidate must have outstanding stakeholder engagement, coordination and analysis skills with a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team environment, with a focus on quality service delivery to internal clients across a range of matters.    The successful candidate must be available to work in Canberra.  Candidates will need to be familiar with the,  Privacy Act 1988  (Cth), the Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2024 (Cth) and be experienced and comfortable with conducting reviews of projects involving personal information.   Legal qualifications, the ability to obtain a practicing certificate and an NV1 clearance are essential.
