This pivotal role involves providing expert legal guidance on our most complex and strategic projects, while leading a high-performing team of legal professionals. As a senior member of our legal function, you will collaborate closely with the Deputy General Counsel and General Counsel, playing a crucial role in shaping our legal strategy, driving business success, and ensuring effective management of legal risks across wholesale, infrastructure, and corporate matters. Responsibilities Legal Leadership: Provide high-level legal advice and support on the business unit’s most complex or strategic projects, transactions, and initiatives. Strategic Contribution: Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes, ensuring legal considerations are embedded in business strategy. Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four direct reports, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the legal team in business unit leadership meetings, providing clear and pragmatic legal insights to senior stakeholders. Operational Excellence: Ensure the legal team meets its objectives, deadlines, and service delivery standards, while maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Skills: Qualified legal professional with 10+ years of post-qualification and experience. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with the ability to guide and motivate a team and manage through change. Experience with large enterprise sales and infrastructure contracts. Strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
