Job Description:
ACCOUNTABILITIES Generate high quality compliant investment, superannuation and personal risk advice documents for new and existing clients. Adhere to Smith Coffey advice standards and compliance protocols at all times. Keep pace with Paraplanning production expectations and advice service delivery. Maintain positive relationships with Smith Coffey staff and external providers . DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare timely Statements of Advice; Records of Advice; Application forms; SOA attachments and SOA working papers and electronically file correctly for compliance purposes. Collect, collate and analyse research obtained from clients and third-party providers. Complete Term Deposits reviews and generate advice, if required. Complete superannuation and non-superannuation investment portfolio reviews and generate advice, if required. Monitor and maintain current technical reference materials, e.g. adviser guides, investment research, direct stocks model, performance statistics and Product Disclosure Statements. Meet with Consultants to discuss the recommendations and any advice nuances that may impact the advice outcomes. Keep abreast of market movements and raise relevant matters that may impact client advice and/or Smith Coffey’s approved product list. Maintain awareness of the legislative and compliance requirements for effective delivery of advice. Build and maintain good relationships with internal teams for ease of administration and smooth processing. Contribute to the weekly team meetings and be willing to up skill and learn more from peers. KEY ATTRIBUTES, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS One or two years in financial planning, exposure to Xplan. Relevant tertiary qualification or progressing towards (eg. Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning). Excellent attention to detail, a natural affinity with numbers. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Production centric attitude, ie. A good time manager. Be a team player but have a strong personal motivation to succeed. Have a caring and amiable disposition. Be flexible and enjoy change, consider ongoing improvement as a norm. Committed to personal and professional development and willingness to attending seminars and professional development sessions outside business hours. Desire to progress towards meeting the FASEA Code of Ethics standard. COMPUTER SYSTEMS UTILISED Xplan, IBM, Microsoft Suite, third party websites, custom built software.
