Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated US Sales Tax Associate I to join our team. The primary focus of this role is on US Sales and Use Tax compliance and reporting across multiple states. You will assist in preparing, reviewing, and reconciling sales tax returns, supporting tax software implementation, and ensuring timely and accurate filings in accordance with state and local tax regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and assist in the filing of US Sales and Use Tax returns across multiple states
- Reconcile sales tax accounts and ensure accuracy in transaction data and reporting.
- Support the implementation and use of sales tax software for automated filings.
- Review tax exemption certificates and maintain accurate documentation for audit purposes.
- Research and resolve discrepancies or issues related to sales tax filings and notices.
- Assist in gathering and organizing data required for state and local tax audits.
- Monitor changes in sales tax laws and rates to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Support other compliance-related functions as needed (e.g., business license renewals, limited corporate filings).
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure correct tax setup for products and customers in ERP systems.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in US Sales and Use Tax compliance (multi-state exposure preferred).
- Familiarity with sales tax software or ERP tax modules is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and related accounting tools.
- Basic understanding of US indirect tax regulations and accounting principles.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule: Night Shift (CST)
Setup: This is a remote (work-from-home) position open to candidates based anywhere in the Philippines.
