Technical IT Project Manager

Overview
Oversees IT projects, on-boardings, and off-boardings and requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and strong communication abilities.

Talents & Skills

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure (networks, servers, cloud platforms, Microsoft 365)
  • Familiarity with endpoint management tools (ConnectWise Automate, Intune, IBM MaaS360, etc.)
  • Experience with identity and access management (Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD)
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices

  • Have an understanding of scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Power Automate, etc.)

Project Management Skills

  • Proven experience managing IT projects end-to-end

  • Skilled in project planning, resource allocation, and timeline management
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. ConnectWise Manage, Microsoft Project)
  • Ability to scope the entire project, work with the resources and create tasks lists and project specific assumptions and document all into the statement of work
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects

Operational & Process Skills

  • Experience with onboarding/offboarding workflows (We will teach based on our tool sets if necessary)
  • Understanding of ITIL or similar service management frameworks

  • Ability to document and improve IT processes

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Problem-solving mindset and proactive attitude

  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical teams

Tasks & Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Pre-project meeting and due diligence planning to gather all necessary information
  • Plan and execute all projects (IT infrastructure, migrations, on-boardings, roll-outs, etc.)
  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors

  • Communicate with stakeholders and entire team

  • Track milestones, budgets, and deliverables

  • Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Manage technical onboarding/offboarding processes for employees and contractors
  • Coordinate provisioning/deprovisioning, driven by the agreement:

    • Devices and associated solutions

    • Users and associated solutions

    • Access to SaaS platforms

    • VPN and remote access

  • Ensure compliance with security and data retention policies

Platform Oversight

  • Verify Customer contacts, Emergency contacts, and customers sites are in PSA
  • Coordinate patching, updates, and device lifecycle management

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain documentation and SOPs

  • Generate reports on project status, device compliance, and onboarding metrics
  • Document lessons learned and process improvements

Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as the point of contact for project updates

  • Communicate timelines, risks, and dependencies to leadership

  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration
