About the job Business Development Specialist
You will join the expanding business development team in Türkiye and take responsibility for undertaking marketing campaigns and securing project awards with our clients. You will report directly to the Regional Business Development Manager, you will provide strategic inputs in the strategy, and be responsible to undertake all the various tasks related to the preparation of commercial offers and the tasks related to the recruitment of consultants. You will be required to demonstrate a combination of discipline, flexibility, and precision in all tasks while counting on a network of experts and partners and on clients' knowledge. You will ideally have specific experiences and a track record in one of the strategic sectors of Stantec (environment, climate, water, and energy), but any other specific sector expertise will be a value added (e.g. governance). As a professional,l you will also be engaged in larger marketing efforts to diversify the sectors and the client's basis.
Key duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure the marketing responsibility of a large portfolio of internationally funded projects;
- Identify project opportunities for key clients and take the lead on strategic bid campaigns;
- Implement the Stantec business development process to deliver first-class quality offers;
- Take responsibility in building a consortium, collecting business intelligence, in the preparation of expressions of interest and tender proposals;
- Undertake field missions and engage with clients;
- Lead proposal preparation from the beginning to the end, including but not limited to expert search, reference gathering, and structuring of proposal content, negotiation with consortium partners, budget calculation etc.
Qualifications:
- Engineering background, preferably environmental, energy, mechanical, and industrial engineering
- Preferably 3-5 years of experience in a similar senior function;
- Good knowledge of the European Commission external aid market and procurement procedures;
- Ideally, good knowledge and experience with at least an additional donor (i.e. EIB, ADB, KFW, GIZ, World Bank, or EBRD);
- A good understanding of at least one of the following sectors: energy, climate change, environment, water,r or good governance;
- IT-skills: advanced use of MS Office, particularly Excel;
- Rigorous, accuracy, and attention to detail;
- Creative, communicative, open-minded,d and results-oriented;
- Languages: native Turkish and solid written and spoken English;
- Work ethics, dynamism, and ability to cope with multiple tasks and stressful situations.
