Our client is a leading global law firm with one of the most established US presences in Asia, running a famously integrated one-firm culture across its worldwide platform. Its Hong Kong office acts for an enviable client base spanning Greater China's flagship corporates, financial investors and multinationals, and the corporate team is now looking to add a mid-level associate as it continues to build out the practice.

WHAT

Reporting to the partners who lead the corporate and M&A practice in Hong Kong, you will play an active role in running complex cross-border M&A, private equity and venture capital transactions alongside broader corporate commercial matters. The work is genuinely cross-border in flavour, with close collaboration with the firm's corporate and financial markets teams across jurisdictions. You will also get involved in client networking and pitch preparation, and will be expected to manage files independently in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

YOU

You will be a Hong Kong qualified lawyer with around five years' post-qualification experience in corporate and M&A work, with hands-on experience of driving high-value, complex transactions to completion. A deep knowledge of the Greater China regulatory and legal landscape relevant to M&A is essential, together with a strong command of international cross-border transactional principles. Native or fluent English is required, and proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese is highly advantageous.
