Business Development Manager / Assistant Manager | Int'l Law Firm | HKG

Our client, an international commercial law firm with a small but fast-growing Hong Kong presence is seeking a Business Development & Marketing Manager to join its local office. This is a standalone, hands‑on role reporting to the Hong Kong Managing Partner and a UK‑based global head of marketing.

The role covers the full spectrum of BD and marketing activity, including firm and practice‑level strategy, legal directory submissions, events and conference participation, client initiatives, and day‑to‑day partner support. It requires someone who is commercially minded, proactive and comfortable operating with autonomy and working closely with a charismatic, energetic, and inspiring Managing Partner.

This opportunity will suit an ambitious senior BD Executive, Assistant Manager or junior Manager looking to step into a broader, ownership‑driven role. The successful candidate will be confident working with senior stakeholders, resilient in approach and high in EQ.

Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment is essential. Fluency in English and written Chinese is required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
• Strong understanding of the legal industry and market trends
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful business development strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
• Strong project management and organisational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with CRM systems
• Fluency in English and Mandarin, both written and verbal.
