Banking & Finance PSL | 7+ PQE | US Law Firm | HKG

One of our renowned clients, a leading U.S. law firm is seeking an experienced Banking & Finance Lawyer, with strong expertise in leveraged and real estate finance, to join its APAC Banking & Finance team. This strategic role focuses on developing legal knowledge and innovation across leveraged finance, real estate finance, and other financing transactions. 

Key Duties 

• Legal and Market Expertise: Provide expert guidance on banking and finance matters, including direct support on client work where needed.
• Training and Development: Design and deliver targeted training programs (seminars, workshops, induction courses) and mentor junior lawyers to build technical capability across the team.
• Current Awareness and Thought Leadership: Monitor legal and market developments, produce newsletters and articles, and identify opportunities for new legal products and services to enhance client value.
• Knowledge Management: Draft and maintain standard forms, practice notes, and deal summaries; ensure materials are current and accessible through internal KM systems.
• Innovation and Strategic Projects: Champion new knowledge tools and contribute to global initiatives that improve collaboration, efficiency, and English law expertise in Asia.
• Collaboration and Continuous Learning: Respond to legal queries, engage in regular team meetings, and attend external training to stay up to date with legal and business trends.

Requirements

• At least 7 years post-qualified experience in Banking & Finance, with strong expertise in leveraged and real estate finance (real estate finance preferred), gained at a leading law firm or financial institution
• Law degree and bar admission in Hong Kong or Singapore
• Excellent drafting, research, and communication skills and confident working across teams and levels
• Strong organizational abilities, understanding of legal learning processes, and comfort with legal tech and knowledge systems
