Compliance Specialist/Manager | Int'l Law Firm | HK

A leading international law firm is seeking a legal professional with 3-5 years PQE and experience in risk and regulatory compliance, ideally across Asia-Pacific. The role supports the Regional Head of Risk & Compliance and helps deliver consistent, high-quality compliance solutions across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide proactive guidance on risk and compliance matters to partners and staff, reflecting the firms values.
• Collaborate with UK-based team members to ensure strategic alignment and consistent advice.
• Ensure compliance with law society rules, firm policies, and guidelines.
• Advise on client, supplier, and secondment terms.
• Manage AML, sanctions, conflicts, and financial crime escalations efficiently.
• Conduct research and contribute to regional or firm-wide risk projects.
• Build strong relationships with partners and present in meetings as needed.
• Identify and address knowledge gaps in risk and compliance.
• Support rollout of new initiatives and tech solutions aligned with regulatory changes.
• Work closely with business services to embed risk management into operations.
• Stay updated on legal and regulatory developments and implement timely changes.

Key Qualifications:

• Legal professional with 3-5 years PQE in an international law firm
• Familiarity with professional bar rules
• Experience with Intapp and centralized compliance teams
• Strong communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills
• Organized, analytical, and detail-oriented
• Fluent in English; Mandarin or Japanese is a plus
• Experience with multi-jurisdictional projects preferred
